Borrowing Policy For College Employees

1. The loan period for library materials is 3 weeks. Exceptions to this are current periodicals, for which the loan period is overnight; and videos, for which the loan period is 3 days.

2. The College does not charge overdue fines to college employees. Overdue notices sent to employees ask that they return the items or notify the Circulation Desk staff that they are still using the items if they wish to keep them longer. However, employees are subject to fines when they borrow directly from the Camden County Public Library.

3. Employees doing long projects may keep items related to that project for one (1) semester at a time. These materials must be returned or renewed at the end of the semester.

4. Regardless of #3, the library reserves the right to recall any item if needed for the use of another patron, after it has been out for 3 weeks. If the employee does not respond to the recall request, the library will ask the borrower's supervisor to assist in the recall.

5. When items are not returned or renewed by the official end of the semester, the employee, his/her department chair and Dean will be notified of the value of the outstanding obligation.

- The value will be computed using the current list price of the item or $30.00 for an out-of-print book ($85.00 maximum for an out-of-print art book), plus a $10.00 handling/processing fee per item.

- The employee must pay the amount of the outstanding obligation, or return or replace the item within 21 days of such notification. If this is not done the employee and the Provost's Office will be notified and the employee's LRC borrowing privileges will be revoked.

- The employee will receive a letter from the Provost and the college reserves the right to impose additional sanctions if necessary to ensure compliance.

6. When an employee intends to leave the college, the Human Resources Office will notify the Library Director of this, and the date of the exiting employee's last pay. The library will contact the employee as to any outstanding obligation that must be cleared before his/her departure.
